A Healthier Life Style

Hello folks!

I know I have been whining alot on my blog lately but well, all good things come to an end, and all good things come to those who wait (whichever comes first). It's a vicious cycle la.. on and on and on... There're ups and there're downs.

I was having a bad period of DownTime as Brud puts it. Feeling strained, mentally stressed.. or what, I also duno. I figured it's a normal process maybe? Every now and then, one will feel unhappy about the job/life/every-farking-thing..

So anyway, step by step, crawling out of depression. Gotta get that spark back, the enthusiasm back. The RAWR-ness back. It's working. Just take it easy, do one task at a time. Smile more, talk more. Don't sit and sulk by oneself.

And since I'm always saying how pudgy I am.. and tired etc. It's time for a wee change. And it starts from within. Only when I feel good will I look good and then feel even good(er). Lol. Hadn't had chips for a long long time. Not even soft drinks. In fact, I don't remember touching a can of coke for months now. My tastebuds have changed significantly and sweets are abit of a turn-off for me now. Not those gums or -sweets- la.. but I don't even have a craving for cheesecakes or any cakes or muffins etc liao.

I'm also decreasing my intake of food and carbs. Duh, I won't starve myself, it's really impossible. I HAVE to eat. But say if I eat rice/noodles for lunch, dinner I will just drink soup and eat the side dishes. And I'm starting to exercise more. Started last thurs...

So on thurs I went jogging. Fri went out. Sat had a very long walk (from Tampines to Bedok), Sunday was yoga. Monday I .. don't remember. Tues went out. Yesterday went jogging. Today maybe I shall stay home and do yoga.

I feel happy! It's true! Exercise releases endorphins which will make you happy! Maybe that's why/how I'm crawling out of the Pit of Depression. Lol. Anyway, being happy is goodst. I'm nearly back to my old self. But will strive to be a more healthier/fitter/and hopefully slimmer me.
*after jogging* Whew!

Savvy Day

Hola!

I'm in a brilliantly happy mood! There's a Raoul sale going on @ Hitachi Tower and it will last till the end of the month. Anyhoo I heard a lot of good comments about the brand and my colleague is a walking example too. I was rather impressed with the shirt cut and material.

Anyway it started last week and a couple of us went down after work to hunt. It was supremely crowded and I got very pissed with the shoving. The next day, tried again and also nothing.

So today, my col said to pop down during lunch hour and I agreed. So 3 of us went to spend our lunch hour hunting for clothes and I managed to find two!!

2 beaauuutiful long-sleeved shirts. I haven't taken any pics of them but I would soon! The discount prices were 2 for $150 and 3 for $200.

I shared with my col so my shirts were like $67 each.
1) A flaming red shirt with thick cuffs and it's open-neck cut. As in the first button started only slightly above the chest. Very chic. Original $99

2) A light purple textured shirt with cuffs that have a small ribbon. Just that dash of feminine. Very very nice material and color. Original $135

And after splitting with col, my total was like $133 for two!

For dinner, I met my dear to eat at Anatolia cause she's somewhere in Orchard and could end work arnd 6+ (my sort of timing :p). I gushed over the shirts, showed them to her and had a stamp of approval. *beams* Yay!

I'm slowly turning into a Raoul fan now. G2000 or any other shirt brands seem to have a strange cut on me. Always loose at shoulders, tight at boobs. Then when I get a bigger size for the chest, the other areas look so shabby.

Money well spent. These shirts are smart, chic, very pretty and can last a long time ^^

Muacks my Raoul shirts! Chuu~

Another night of arting

Sooo, it's my colleague's bday and our wittle internal department has a ritual of giving each other gift/card. Anyhoo.. gift has been bought and one other col decided to make a DIY card. She did the paper-cut popup inside while I'm tasked to decorate the front.

Here it is! The Tatty Teddy Bear!

I want to...

Cry and drown my sorrows

Scream and hide the fears

Paint the world in shades of colours

And put a smile onto my tears

~@~

Have a spine and have more courage

Have the strength to stand up for myself

Be less dependent

Be less useless

To right the wrongs and do more rights

Know what the hell is going on

~@~

Learn how to listen

Learn how to speak

Learn how to act without stabbing me back

~@~

Live in peace and harmony

Stop being emotionally blackmailed

Be a trust-worthy friend

Be a wonderful daughter

Be the best master to my dog

Be free

Be me

~@~

Things at work got me down. Things in family got me down. Things with people got me down. Things in the world got me down. One of the worst weeks in my life. Wish to talk, wish to sigh, wish to turn back time, wish to do things differently. Wishful thinking.

Time goes on. Time doesn't care. Time never stops.

I want to..

I.

I.

I.

I.

I.

I am selfish.

I am only human.

I want to be me.

I need to stop whining.

I will stop now.

Anthropologie Therapy

I have been suffering through a rather bad work week due to 'issues' and today was the day I met my dear-dear after a long long while.

Busy with things, bad timings etc... never gotten round to seeing each other. Wonky internet connection also made the absence worse.

So today, we met up for dinner and a chat and I had a fantastic time. Thank you dear for cheering me up. We had a yummy meal at TCC (city link) with a good cuppa coffee (she had strawberry soy :D). Then we talked and yakked and wailed (me, mostly) and ranted. And the topic moved on to bags. I wanted to get a nicer sling bag and we thought of Crumpler. There was one at Raffles City so it was pretty convenient.

Crumpler didn't have the bag I wanted (out of stock) so we popped into our fav shop - Anthropologie. It's a US-brand and I fell in love with it when I was in Tucson. The items are VERY pricey. Well the clothes outlet at least (in States. Not avail in SG). I remembered I bought only 2 items there. One was a bolero that cost me 29 USD, the other was a very very burn-hole-in-pocket 3/4 dark green pants with flower motif at the edge. That one was 80 USD. But it's so gorgeous...

Anyway the Anthro at the basement sells knick-knacks. Window shopping in there really made my day. I realised I have a bit of a leather fetish. We were cooing and ogling at the trinkets. Dear and I have almost similar taste but yet complete opposites. We will find a certain 'set' or 'category' cool but she will go for the pure/white one and I'll be eyeing the dark/morbid one. Like a set of wine-chains, where you hook a tiny keychain thing to a wineglass to keep track of your own drink. There was a 'Sweet category' where the set consists of lolli, sweet, chocolate bar.. etc. Those tiny little pieces like a handphone-accessory size. For me? I chose the gumball machine. Hahah!

After oogling, I have two things on my kiv list.

1) Automatic open-close umbrella that is black and covered with grey text scribbles 'Delay No More'. It's so quirky and so very cool. $35.

2) Leather wallet that is semi coinpouch + card holder. Squarish in shape and not a 'flip open'. The cards part has a button while the other half is a zip compartment. Genuine leather. $120.

I may be getting the wallet, we shall see. My Pierre Cardin (gift) is old and the metallic part is all scratched up. An ugly mix of black and bronze (coz the black coating peeled).

Also, I have two previous gifts from you-know-who-you-are, which were:
1) leather pen holder
2) leather jewellery box from the same cat.

(Told you I have a leather fetish)

Anyway, I did buy something from Anthro. Join the family! It's at 50% sale and very schweet. I call it the 'stuff' bag. To put my barang barang. Like lip balm, lip stick, comb, moisturizer, bandaid, panadol, loose change... you know. Stuff. It's longish, rectangular, no frills, no pattern, just a plain denim zipped pouch. [____]

The denim is sooo nice. *sigh* And it's $7.60, cheap for an Anthro. Whoo!

We left the shop with me being in uber good mood. Really lifted my spirits after a mentally-draining day. Retail therapy really works. Heh.

Thanks again dear for the outing and chill-out. Great catching up with you and hope we meet again real soon! :)

Muacks.
